Winter

Inked a watercolor tag with the three inks in the Winter Seasonal Distress Ink Pads, sprayed with water to blend for the background. Stamped in Black Archival Ink, the trees and Sentiment. Added snowflakes with Archival Brilliance Moonlight White Pigment Ink.

Inked a watercolor tag with the three inks in the Seasonal Distress Winter Pallet. Sprayed water to blend, then Spritzed and Flicked more water for a droplet effect. Traced the Snowman and words from a metal die... added white flock to the Snowman and Red Sticklers along with Platinum Stickers for accents. His carrot nose is Orange Sticklers.

I made sprays from the re-inkers in this Seasonal Distress line, and added Copper Perfect Pearls for a subtle shimmer effect for the background colors.  I then sprayed each color onto the craft mat, using a paint brush, I painted the flowers. The trim is gold foil tape.

Reverse Stamps

I haven't given much thought to Reverse Stamps as I have always viewed them as dark, but after today's class... watch out!!!  I only have a few and this is the only big one I own. While it is not as detailed as the one demo'd in class, it did give me a chance to play around...

I used regular Crayola Pencils to color this, blending several colors

I used Copic Markers on this, blending several colors and also using the Blending Pen. I stamped this on textured card stock which gave a different backgound look

I used the Crayola Pencils again and decided to mix it up. I think the sunflowers look more like Gerbera Daisies now...

I  mounted each panel on CoreOrdinations 4x6 Paper that I embossed with various folders. Wanting to keep the dark tone going, I then applied each to black card stock. Since I choose black, I put a tag inside each card for a hand written note.

Border Stamps:

Dylusions sprays meet CTMH Sentiments!!!

I sprayed white card stock with Dylusions Spray Inks, used a stencil which I sprayed with water to remove some of the ink leaving a subtle pattern in the background.  Stamped 4 Dyan Reaveley Border Stamps on the page. I used 4 sentiment stamps from CTMH to create the message.  Distress Markers for coloring and White gel pen for all the highlighting...

Organic Repeat Stamping and Blender Pen Coloring

Repeatedly stamped the sunflower stamp with Distress Scattered Straw Ink Pad. Used an H2O blending Pen to blend the colors. I smudged some Scattered Straw onto my kraft sheet to add more color and for shading. Using a label stamp, i embossed in white and added the sentiment in white also. Punched two holes, wrapped bakers twine around card and tied into bow.

To finish the front of the card, I scored every 1/4 on an angle half way down the card, but not on the sunflowers, to give the appearance of them being in front.

Embossing on Patterned Paper:

I embossed with copper embossing powered,  three houses on three different patterned papers. I used pewter embossing powered for the street light on patterned paper that had gold bursts which I used inside the top bulb on the lamp post. I laid out the houses using a different level for each one. Before I adhered them, I stamped the trees, colored with Copic pens, using the blending pen to soften the colors. I used Distress Pens on the mailbox. The birdies are colored with Copic also.

I stamped the background of the sentiment on white card stock, then added part of the sentiment  on top. The rest of the sentiment is inside.

Stamping On Glitter:

Using double sided tape, I adhered one side to white card stock, the other I sprinkled with white glitter, used the flat edge of a one folder to burnish the glitter for adhesion. Stamped the sentiment and the flower design. I then cut  a window on the front, embossed black CoreOdination paper, sanded it and adhered it to the flaps created.  I extended the size of a label stamp by inking only the top and sides, stamping, then inking the bottom and sides, matching up the sides for an extending label creating a border around the opening on the front. I used tissue tape to line the inside of this border. I then glued the flaps open showing the inside message. Added a round paper clip on each side for embellishment.

I mounted the glitter sentiment to black paper, did the same technique with another stamp to extend it for a border around the glitter.

I used Sticklers to highlight the black dots on the front of the card, the inside dots and the heart

Stamping with Markers for Highlighted Words Technique

Card #1:
I used Distress Markers, Vintage and Wild Honey to color the stamp where I wanted these colors to be.  Then i used a little sunshine stamp to complete the word Sunshine. I also used sparkle gel pens to highlight the word Sunshine and color in the sun stamp.

Card #2:
For this card, I used the same sentiment, stamped a couple of sunshine stamps at the end of the word Sunshine.  I then sprayed the whole card with Dylusions Lemon Zest. I put a sunburst template, centered over the sentiment, over the entire card and sprayed with Dylusions Squeezed Orange to give that sunburst effect. I colored the suns with Distress Orange Marmalade, and finished then with an orange sparkle gel pen.

Day #3

Making Personal Note Cards, masking the name technique. 

I tried sooo many times to get this where it looked half way decent. I wanted to use this curvy Alphabet cuz I just adore it, but it done NOT lend itself to this technique. i do think block letters work better. But anyways, this is one that actually showed up ok, not great.  I used gel pens to add sparkle to her name, the sun, the embossed frame (cuz you really could not see it at all) and the black dots around the flowers

CC101 Monthly Challenge - Rusted Enamel

I absolutely love this technique and an added bonus, is the feel of the tags afterwards... like leather!!! I faux enameled the Tim Holtz Grunge Hinges as well as the tag. I used Broken China and Vintage Photo for the background.  Old Paper, Tea Dyed and Vintage Photo were the choices for the dictionary tear-out -- Time: and related words.  Ribbon is dyed with Broken China and Vintage Photo.

Stretch Your Stamps Online Class Card #1

Today was the 1st day of Classes. Different techniques were shown for using background stamps. I chose to use two on this card... shaded ink on the hearts and watercolor for the flowers. I made an "envelope" card, scored 2 twice at 5 1/2 from top and first score, leaving an inch fold-up at the bottom. Stamped and embellished it, leaving inside blank for a personal message... and wha-la... here it is...

CC101 BONUS Challenge "Seasonal Distress Pallet" July 2012

Spring Seasonal Distress Ink Pallet...

I had alot of fun creating this.  I started with watercolor paper, spritzed it with H2O, then sprayed Seasonal Spring Distress Inks I made with re-inkers, on the paper. I dried the background each time before tapping it back onto the craft sheet for more ink. When I had the background as I wanted, I lightly spritzed with water again, just enough to blend.

Using aTemplate, from the Shaded Lilac Ink Pad, I applied the yummy purple ink with the ink blending tool. I used another template to create the yellow sunshine using Squeezed Lemonade. I applied several layers of ink to get the color I wanted. I finished with another templates using  Peacock Feathers.  While the template was still in place, I traced the image with a white gel pen and finished embellishing for the look.

The ribbon was created with the sprays of Shaded Lilac, Squeezed Lemonade and Peacock Feathers. I punched holes in the tag, wove the ribbon thru, meeting at the top left.  Using a BBQ wooden skewer to roll the ribbon,  I heat dried it while on the skewer. With it still rolled up, I curled it around itself creating the rosette.

To color the baskets, I dragged a tiny paint brush across the Shaded Lilac Ink Pad and painted onto the stamped basket image. I used Squeezed lemonade mixed with Shaded Lilac to paint the brownish color.

For the butterfly, I "inked" the stamp with all the Seasonal Spring Distress Colors, using that very tiny paint brush again, stamped it onto watercolor pper, spritzed very lightly with water to blend slightly, cut it out, edged with Vintage Photo Distress Ink and applied to tag.

Techniques used:

Since I challenged myself to ONLY use the Seasonal Spring Ink pads I had, and Sprays I made, and not having the Markers,  I had to modify several techniques below:

Watercolor Marker - modified using tiny paint brush, ink to craft sheet, h20 for blending

Stamping with Markers - modified- used tiny paint brush to color the stamp after swiping brush across the ink pad

Watercoloring with re-inkers - modified - used tiny paintbrush dipped into re-inker sprayed onto craft sheet to color in the templates where needed after using the blending tool

Layered Misting Technique - modified - sprayed re-inkers onto watercolor paper in several layers, added additional color via Ink blending tool from the three Distress Seasonal Spring Ink Pads

Wrinkle Free Distress - modified - heat dried tag between re-applying additional ink by tapping tag back into the droplets on craft sheet
